What We Offer

At Sophie’s Babysitting Services, we provide babysitting and respite care for children aged 1–12 across Harlow. We work with each family individually and take the time to understand what works best for your child.

We have a particular focus on supporting SEND families and understand that every child is different. Whether your child needs a little extra support, has specific routines, or simply needs someone who understands them, we aim to make childcare feel comfortable, fun and relaxed.

We love keeping children busy without making everything feel like an organised activity. Depending on the child, we might get stuck into arts and crafts, play games, read stories, head outside, explore somewhere new or just follow whatever they’re interested in that day.

Our aim is simple — for children to have fun, feel comfortable and be themselves, while parents get the support and reassurance they need.

For ages 2 to 12

Our babysitting is all about making sure children feel comfortable, happy and entertained while they’re in our care.

We adapt what we do depending on the child, their age and what they enjoy. Some days might involve getting creative, playing games or reading stories, while other days could mean heading out for an activity or simply having a relaxed afternoon at home.

We also use busy bags when they’re useful, with a selection of small activities and toys to keep little hands occupied. These can be especially handy when we’re out and about or when a child needs something familiar to focus on.

First aid trained

Keeping children safe and well cared for is really important to us.

We’re first aid trained and know how to respond calmly if a child becomes unwell or has an accident while in our care.

We also make sure we’re familiar with each child’s individual needs, routines and any important information their family gives us before we start caring for them.

Supporting children with SEND is a big part of what we do.

We understand that every child is different and that what works for one child might not work for another. We take the time to understand each child, their needs, communication, routines and what helps them feel comfortable.

Our aim is to make childcare feel relaxed and enjoyable while giving parents the chance to have some time for themselves, knowing their child is being supported by someone who understands them.
